The ‘1st Gaon Chart K-Pop Awards’ led by MC Girls’ Generation Taeyeon and Joo Young Hoon aims to create a national chart similar to the Billboard charts and Oricon charts have calculated data from both online and offline albums sale over the last year.

The awards not only include talented musicians but popular music industry professionals as well have 11 categories.

The ‘Gaon Chart K-Pop Awards’ ceremony was attended by IU, Girls’ Generation, Super Junior, Wonder Girls, BEAST, T-ara, Secret, Davichi, Leessang, Girls Day, Huhgak, and more.

Also ‘Good Download Campaign CF’ that was a collaboration of many artists such as TVXQ’s U-Know Yunho, 2PM’s Nichkhun, Wonder Girl’s Sohee, f(x)’s Sulli, and more was released to the public for the first time during the awards.

Especially this year Maroon5 was awarded the ‘International Song of The Year Award.’ The members directly received the trophy for the award middle of this month in the U.S. and sent their reflection through video.

The ‘1st Gaon Chart K-Pop Awards Ceremony’ has been broadcasted live through KBS DRAMA, KBS JOY and portal site DAUM from 7PM KST.
