Exile

EXILE 01

Exile is a 14-member Japanese pop music band. On artwork and promotional material, the band name is typeset in all capitals as “EXILE”.

The current leader Hiro was originally in the band Zoo before they split up in the mid-1990s. In 1999, he started a new group called J Soul Brothers, which later changed its name to Exile in 2001. (But the name of J Soul Brothers was later revived by Hiro again in 2007 when he helped to form another 7-member group under the new J Soul Brothers monicker.)

UNICORN

Unicorn 01

UNICORN (ユニコーン) is a Japanese rock band formed in 1986. The band split up in 1992 but returned in 2009 with their hit single “Wao!”

Led by Tamio Okuda, now an astronomically successful solo artist and producer, the band moved to Tokyo in 1987, flirting with new wave, punk, dub, reggae, Latin, ska and more. But what set the band apart from the band-boom hordes was not only their relentless experimentation but also their solid songwriting and an injection of humor.

The Gazette

The Gazette 05

The Gazette is a Japanese visual kei rock band formed early in 2002, currently signed to PS Company, King Records and CLJ Records.

In March 2002, Ruki, Uruha, Reita, Aoi, and Yune (former band mate) formed a band under the name Gazette. Originally signed to Matina, they released their first single, “Wakaremichi”, and a video release in April. By September, they had released two more singles and another video, headlining a show for the first time in October.

Sodagreen

Sodagreen

Sodagreen (traditional Chinese: 蘇打綠; pinyin: Sūdá lǜ) is a Taiwanese independent folk-rock-pop band. It is difficult to define sodagreen’s music in genres due to the band’s diverse influences. Sodagreen emerged in the Taiwanese indie music scene after receiving the Grand Jury Award in the Hohaiyan Gongliau Rock Festival in 2004 . In 2006, the band received nominations for the Best Music Arrangement and Best Band awards in the prestigious 17th Golden Melody Awards. The band is especially prominent for its main vocalist-songwriter Qing-Feng, who stands out with his unique literary and performing style and wide vocal range.

Globe

GlobeGlobe (styled globe) is a dance-oriented Japanese pop band, formed in 1995 by producer and songwriter Tetsuya Komuro. Originally consisting of Komuro, Keiko Yamada and Marc Panther, the group has been another triumph in a long line of successes associated with Komuro, with its singles consistently hitting the charts even to the present day. In late 2002 Yoshiki, former drummer and pianist for X Japan, joined the group, but he left the band about a year later.
