Free Style releases comeback album, “The Seventh Complaint”

It’s been two years since Free Style’s last album, but Korea’s oldest hip hop duo to date has finally returned with their seventh album, ”The Seventh Complaint“!

Staying true to their style, the songs focus on one steady emotion that’s carried throughout the album. This time, however, the duo stepped away from the use of female vocals to convey certain emotions; instead, they’ve brought in male vocalist JD to focus on the male perspective.

Their title track, “Star,” retains most of the elements they’re known for, such as the heavy orchestra arrangement and deep lyrics like, “I may be in the dark with my head down low, but all you need to do is shine bright wherever you are, just like now.” The featuring of JD shows the minor touches and changes the duo added to set “The Seventh Complaint” apart from the rest.

Although they haven’t had a public broadcast performance since March of 2009, this 14-track album (written and composed entirely by brothers Zio and Mino) is definitely another labor of love.  Check it out below!
