K-Pop group wants to record Filipino song
Jan 13, 2012 (The Manila Times – McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) –
AFTER successfully debuting their Japanese single album, Love Letter/My Only Wish, Korean pop group ZE: A said they too are willing to cut a Filipino song as well. The entire group, through an interpreter, expressed excitement saying they were open to the possibility of recording a song in Filipino if given the chance.
At the opening of their press conference on Wednesday at the Hard Rock Cafe in Glorietta, Makati City, the nine-member K-Pop boy band greeted the audience in Filipino, and gamely spoke several other Filipino words they have learned to the delight of their fans.
ZE: A, which is also known as Children of Empire, is composed of Kwanghee, Kevin, Dong Jun, Min Woo, Hyung Sik, Hee Chul, Tae Heon, Jun Young and Si Wan. The group debuted in the Korean music scene only in January 2010 but has been making waves around Asia, with their “boy-next-door” good looks matched with signature style and groove.
The group is currently in the country to promote their latest album Exciting and will be doing several shows at the Ayala Malls. Fans of the group will have the chance to watch them perform live tonight at the Glorietta Activity Center; and at Market! Market! Activity Center on January 14. ZE: A will also hold fan signing events during their mall shows.
The group first gained attention by performing numerous guerilla shows and creating their own videos. They first appeared on Korean TV via the reality show Star Empire followed by Empire Kids Return.
Exciting’s carrier single “Watch Out” has made it to the No. 1 spot in the Hanteo sales chart in Korea. Their first chart-topper, “Mazeltov,” from their debut album, Nativity, immediately shot to no. 1 on Daum’s Album Chart and Artist Chart.
The K-Pop group has also released their Japanese EP Love Letter/My Only Wish, which placed no. 2 on Oricon’s daily chart. In March 2011, they finally released their first full-length album Lovability, which included songs from their previous mini albums, and all-new tracks.
