Genie (Album)

“Genie” is the debut Japanese single from popular Korean girl group Girls’ Generation. The single is set to be released on September 8, 2010.

It was released in three editions, two CD+DVD editions (first press and regular), and a CD Only edition. First press CD+DVD edition includes a special photobook and a random (1 of 9) photocard. The single includes three versions of their Korean hit song, “Tell Me Your Wish(Genie)”.

Shinee

Shinee is a contemporary R&B South Korean boy band. Formed by SM Entertainment in 2008, they made their debut on May 25, 2008 on SBS’s Popular Songs with their promotional single, “Noonan Neomu Yeppeo (Replay)” (“누난 너무 예뻐 (Replay)”, lit. “Older Girl, You’re So Pretty (Replay)”). The group consists of Onew, Jonghyun, Key, Minho, and Taemin. Since their debut, Shinee has won numerous awards. They have also starred in their own reality show based on their song, “Noona Neomu Yeppeo (Replay)”. Shinee is considered to be a fashion icon having started the “Shinee Trend”.

Oh!

Oh! is an album by South Korean girl group Girls’ Generation. The second full-length album by the group, it was released on January 28, 2010. In January 2010, SM Entertainment confirmed that the group will be back in February with their second full-length album; the release date was eventually moved up to January 28. Initial interest in the album was high, as physical and online pre-orders of the album totaled 150,000 copies. On its first day of sale, Oh! sold 30,000 copies. The album was released in 80 countries including France, Japan and China. The group began promoting their album on MBC’s Music Core on January 30. The group also performed Show!Show!Show! as a part of their special comeback stage on MBC’s Music Core and SBS’s Popular Song. Upon the album’s full release, various album tracks charted in the top ten of various charts.

Girls’ Generation – Oh!

"Oh!" is a song from Oh!, the second studio album by Girls’ Generation. The single was digitally released on January 25, 2010. The group is using a cheerleader theme for the song’s promotional activities. Quickly it became a hit in and out South Korea. Kenzie, a songwriter who previously composed the group’s debut single "Into the New World", also composed "Oh!". "Oh!" was released to digital music sites on January 25; the song quickly topped various digital music charts within 10 minutes of release. The full video was released on January 27, 2010. It was directed by Cheo Soo Hyun. The dance version of "Oh!" was released via SM Entertainment’s YouTube channel following high demand. The song was first performed live on January 30, 2010 on MBC’s Music Core, as part of their Comeback Stage. However, there was a technical error in MBC’s broadcast, with a few seconds of dead air near the end of the performance; the network was then flooded with complaints. The incident was then parodied on YouTube, mixing in clips of the Korean drama IRIS, receiving attention from Korean netizens. The group followed up with their second performance on Inkigayo the following day. On their first Music Bank comeback stage, they won the "K-Chart!" beating C.N.Blue and 2AM while at the same time breaking a record for the most points on the chart with 23,077 points. The group also won a Mutizen award on 14 February 2010.

Girls Generation – Gee

“Gee” is an EP by K-pop girl group Girls’ Generation. It was released on online music sites on January 5, 2009, with the physical release on January 7. It quickly went to #1 on various charts and eventually set a record for longest-running #1 on KBS’s music chart show Music Bank, staying at that position for 9 weeks. “Gee” is a fast-tempo song about a girl who has fallen in love for the first time. The title is supposed to be an exclamation of surprise, similar to “어머나!” (Eomeona!, similar in meaning to “Oh, my goodness!”). The full music video was released on January 7, 2009. It features the girls as mannequins in a store who come to life after the employee closes and leaves the store. SHINee member Minho plays the employee. The music video for “Gee” accumulated over a million views within a day of its release. “Gee” first tied with “Nobody” by the Wonder Girls for the longest-running #1 on music portal M.Net (6 weeks). The song then broke the record by staying on top a seventh week, and remained in the position for an eighth week. It also tied then broke the record for longest-running #1 on Korean Broadcasting System’s Music Bank, beating the 7-week record previously set by Jewelry in 2008 with “One More Time”. “Gee” achieved its ninth #1 on the show on March 13, 2009.

It's Love – Girls' Generation

“It’s Love” is a duet performed by Girl’s Generation’s Taeyeon, and Sunny. it is part of Heading to the Ground OST. “Heading to the Ground” (written by Kim Solji, Kim Yaeri, directed by Park Sungsu) is a drama that is attracting much attention due to its main lead role being played by the singer-turned- actor: Asia’s Star, U-Know Yunho (Jung Yunho) of TVXQ.

Motion – Girls' Generation

“Motion” was a crash project taken on my Girl’s Generation in the midst of all their activities. The song is the work of Composer Kim Jin Hwan, the creator of albums such as “Ocean”, “Fly Together”, “Onion”, “Lin/Rin” as well as of the duet piece by Girl’s Generation’s Jessica and SHINee’s Onyu, “After A Year.”

It is also part of Heading to the Ground OST, which stars U-Know Yunho (Jung Yunho) of TVXQ.
