Raymond Lam

Raymond Lam is a Hong Kong actor and singer under contracts with TV station TVB and EEG’s Music Plus label.

Lam attended the 13th TVB artists training class in 1998 as an auditing student and was offered a contract with TVB upon graduation in September 1998. In the earlier part of his career, Lam appeared as a walk-on in numerous TV series and as a host for TVB8. In 2000, Lam gained more audience attention after playing supporting roles in A Taste of Love and A Step into the Past. In 2002, Lam was offered to play the leading role in Eternal Happiness and he received the Most Improved Actor Award from TVB for his performance in Survivor’s Law.

MC Jin

Jin Au-Yeung, who performs under the stage name MC Jin, is a Chinese-American hip hop rapper, songwriter and actor. Growing up as an overseas Chinese, he decided to reside permanently in Hong Kong. Because of his multicultural background, he is fluent in both Cantonese and English. Back in the United States, he was the first Asian solo rapper to be signed to a major record label.

Leo Ku

Leo Ku Kui-Kei is a Hong Kong Cantopop and Mandopop singer and actor. He was also an entertainment news programme (娛樂新聞眼) presenter at TVB as well as host of the music show Jade Solid Gold in 1992 before releasing his first album (愛的解釋) in 1994. From that day, he became a Cantopop singer. He is one of the few Cantopop artists who makes use of falsetto (假音) – Because of this, many people, including David Tao, have praised his unique talent. He is the first singer to have won all four newcomer gold awards from Hong Kong’s radio/television stations. Early in his career he was nicknamed 古怪基 by the media, a pun on his name’s pronunciation, literally meaning Strange Kei due to his strange appearance on stage.

CNBLUE tops weekly music charts in Taiwan

Four-member rock band CNBLUE has topped two weekly music charts in Taiwan with their mini-album “Bluetory,” according to their agency FNC Music on Tuesday.

FNC announced in a press release that the group’s Korean mini-album “Bluetory” took the No. 1 spot on Taiwan’s G-Music and Five Music weekly music chart during the week of August 6 to 12, placing ahead of Super Junior’s fourth full-length record “BONAMANA” and SS501′s first Japanese single “Kokoro.”

Open auditions to be held for new Asian girl group

FarWest Entertainment — a production company helmed by former Walt Disney Company (Asia Pacific) president Jon Niermann — and a group of Asian partners are behind a fledgling girl band enterprise called “Project Lotus.”

The concept behind “Project Lotus” is simple.

Get five talented girls from Korea, Japan, China, India and the Philippines. Pair them up with Grammy Award-winning producers Eliot Kennedy and Brian Grant. Give them songs composed by prominent song writers like Take That’s Gary Barlow. Get it all down on film and drop it on the world.
