AKB48

AKB48 is an all-female Japanese theater/idol group produced by Yasushi Akimoto. Unlike other idol groups in Japan, AKB48 is theater-based and have their own theater in Akihabara (a district in Tokyo) where they perform once every weekday, and more than once on both Saturday and Sunday. The theater is set up on the 8th floor of Don Quijote. Some of the title songs released as a single have been made a tie-in song for a television show or a television advertisement. The name derives from a shortened, Romanized representation of ‘Akihabara’.

Misia, born on July 7, 1978, in Fukuoka, Fukuoka, Japan, is a Japanese R&B singer. Her real name is Misaki, not to be mistaken with the actress Misaki Itō. Her current record label is BMG Japan and she belongs to Rhythmedia management company. She debuted on February 21, 1998, with the song “Tsutsumikomu Yō ni…,” and is most known for her hit song “Everything,” which sold roughly 1.9 million copies.

Past < Future – Namie Amuro

Past < Future is the ninth studio album by Japanese pop singer Namie Amuro, expected to be released on December 16, 2009. The album comes over two years after her last original studio album, Play (2007). Amuro states that she sees the album as a “brand new start” following the highly successful release of the greatest hits compilation, Best Fiction (2008). Only one single, “Wild/Dr.” was released from the album.

Globe

GlobeGlobe (styled globe) is a dance-oriented Japanese pop band, formed in 1995 by producer and songwriter Tetsuya Komuro. Originally consisting of Komuro, Keiko Yamada and Marc Panther, the group has been another triumph in a long line of successes associated with Komuro, with its singles consistently hitting the charts even to the present day. In late 2002 Yoshiki, former drummer and pianist for X Japan, joined the group, but he left the band about a year later.
