CNBLUE tops weekly music charts in Taiwan

Four-member rock band CNBLUE has topped two weekly music charts in Taiwan with their mini-album “Bluetory,” according to their agency FNC Music on Tuesday.

FNC announced in a press release that the group’s Korean mini-album “Bluetory” took the No. 1 spot on Taiwan’s G-Music and Five Music weekly music chart during the week of August 6 to 12, placing ahead of Super Junior’s fourth full-length record “BONAMANA” and SS501′s first Japanese single “Kokoro.”

Shinee

Shinee is a contemporary R&B South Korean boy band. Formed by SM Entertainment in 2008, they made their debut on May 25, 2008 on SBS’s Popular Songs with their promotional single, “Noonan Neomu Yeppeo (Replay)” (“누난 너무 예뻐 (Replay)”, lit. “Older Girl, You’re So Pretty (Replay)”). The group consists of Onew, Jonghyun, Key, Minho, and Taemin. Since their debut, Shinee has won numerous awards. They have also starred in their own reality show based on their song, “Noona Neomu Yeppeo (Replay)”. Shinee is considered to be a fashion icon having started the “Shinee Trend”.

BoA, Seven to perform at Incheon Korea Music Wave

Korea’s leading international stars BoA and Seven will be performing at Incheon Korean Music Wave 2010 next month, along with 14 other Korean musicians.

The concert will take place at Incheon Munhak World Cup Stadium on Aug. 29, at 7 p.m. The Incheon-sponsored event is also supported by Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Super Junior members filed for lawsuit against SM Entertainment

According to Sina News, 6 Super Junior members file lawsuit against SM entertainment. Super Junior, is a boy band from Seoul, South Korea that was formed under SM Entertainment in 2005. With a total of thirteen members.

Member that filed lawsuit includes, Hangeng, Lee Teuk, Yesung, Kangin, Eun Hyuk and Donghae. According to the lawsuit, Hangeng has not had any rest in 2 years, causing him to suffer from fatigue, which also resulted in chronic gastritis, illnesses related to his kidney, lumbar disc herniation, as well as a visible decrease in body strength.

Sung Min

Lee Sung-min (born January 1, 1986), better known mononymously as Sungmin, is a Korean pop singer, and actor. Sungmin is also a martial artist, being one of the two members of the group to frequently perform Chinese martial arts in Super Junior‘s dance routines, the other being Han Geng.

Sungmin was born in the Ilsan district of Goyang, Gyeonggi. He has a younger brother, Lee Sungjin. He entered the 2001 SM Youth Best Contest and jointly won first place for the Best Outward Appearance award with future band mate Donghae. Together, they signed a contract with SM Entertainment and began to receive training in singing, dancing, and acting.

Shindong

Shindong 04Shin Dong-hee (born September 28, 1985), better known by his stage name Shindong, is a Korean pop singer, actor, presenter, and a member of the super boy band Super Junior. One of the four lead dancers of the group, Shindong is also a rapper, often co-writing rap lyrics and rhythms with Eunhyuk.

Shindong was born in Mungyeong, North Gyeongsang on September 28, 1985. Having a love for dancing, Shindong signed up for the 2002 Goyangsi Youth Dance contest and won the grand prize. A year later, he joined the contest again and won gold. In 2004, Shindong joined the Mnet Epi Contest and won both the gold prize and popularity award. In 2005, Shindong signed up for the SM Best Youth Contest and won first place for Best Comedian, achieving the grand prize. He signed a contract with SM Entertainment and received lessons to further improve Shindong’s dancing ability.

Kang In

Kang In 05Kim Young-woon (born January 17, 1985), better known by his stage name Kang-in, is a Korean pop singer, actor, MC, presenter, and a member of the super boy band Super Junior. His name ‘Kang-in’ (Hanja: 強仁), meaning strong benevolence, was given to him to complement his personality.

Kang-in was scouted by a talent agent and was recommended to sign up for SM Entertainment’s talent competitions. In 2002, Kang-in won first place on the fourth annual SM Youth Best Contest and won the best outward appearance award and signed a contract with SM Entertainment.

Yesung

Yesung 01Kim Jong-woon (born August 24, 1984), better known by his stage name Yesung, is a Korean pop singer and occasional actor. He is one of the three lead vocalists of the super boy band Super Junior. He was once a radio host for his own radio program, M.I.R.A.C.L.E for You, which ended its broadcast in September 2007. His stage name Yesung (Hanja: 藝聲) is translated to “art-like voice” and is derived from the phrase “예술가의 성대”, meaning “vocal chords of an artist.”
